The Potluck event turned out great, there was a ton of good food!! And of course it was fun to see everyone and be able to hang out and knit. I believe Mom took some pictures so I shall try to get them up on the website soon. If you want recipes of any of the dishes that we had, just check out the front page. And we are going to be scheduling another one, since it was so much fun. I'm going to be sending out an email shortly since we just got some new yarn in and just remember our new hours start this weekend (Sept 1st). Tues- Friday 10-6 and Sat & Sun 11-4 We are always closed on Mondays.

As you can probably tell we aren't too good about updating this thing. Ooops! But I thought I'd write something about the new books that we just received yesterday. First off, The Secret Language of Knitters is a funny book, its a dictionary of the terms that Knitters use. Folk Style is from Interweave, so you know it has to be good, there are some pretty designs that feature color-work or embroidery once they are done. We are all thinking of knitting a pretty shawl from the book, so perhaps it will be a knit-along at some point. Knit Noel is a neat book with plenty of patterns for the holidays, so come check that out if you need gift ideas or decorations. Not tonight Darling, Im Knitting is a fun book, it has lots of pictures and stories about knitting. Knitting Circles Around Socks would be good for those of you that hate knitting the second sock. It shows you how to knit two socks at the same time on two circular needles. We have gotten Not Just Socks & Not just more socks back in again. Along with Not Just sock for kids which has some cute patterns for kids all made out of sock yarn. Also Cat Bordhi's new book New Pathways for Sock Knitters just came in, it has some cool designs and techniques. 

Also if you would like to come to knit-alongs or the Potluck dinner, please let us know, just so we know how much stuff we need to have. 

Another quick thing, have you checked out ravelry yet? Its a fun place where you can see others' projects. Sadly there is a waiting list since it's still in the testing stages, but go put your name down, it's a bunch of fun! Oh my name on there is zimzim, so stop by to see what I'm making for the store!
